Design of the new platform for the educational startup called Intuitivo. The image showcases a modern and intuitive user interface with clean layouts, vibrant colors, and interactive elements.

Intuitivo

I had the opportunity to be the lead UX/UI Designer in the redesign of the Intuitivo platform, implementing user-centric approaches in design decisions. I was able to conduct user research focusing on finding opportunities of improvement, creating low-fidelity drafts to be used as a proof of concept in discussion with the CPO and the CTO, and creating the final designs to be implemented in the platform.

1. 𝗖ontext

The platform interface was outdated and had some usability issues. This was getting in the way of prospecting for new customers and presenting the company to investors.

2. Problems

They had already gathered some notes from users and the objective was to analyze them and prioritize which were the problems to be solved. After all, why was it necessary to invest resources to solve this problem? For this, it was necessary to analyze more deeply each problem already highlighted and carry out usability tests with users so that I could assess the problems from a greater angle and define the severities and priorities of the problems together with the product development team.

3. Planning

After defining the problem hierarchy it was time to plan how to solve the problems in order. Low-priority problems that were easy and quick to fix were passed to developers while solutions for other problems were developed.

4. Execution

Problem solutions included the creation of a Style guide, flat design approach, adaptation of branding colors, restructuring of information architecture, vertical menu and inclusion of two new functionalities.

5. Challenges

One of the important discoveries was about the horizontal menu function, which was not working well for users in the sense that they could not easily find some features. So, I created a vertical menu with a clearer and simpler information architecture so that users had a better experience and could enjoy all the benefits of the platform.

6. Impacts

  • Intuitivo is making digitization in schools more humane and meaningful

  • Implementation of the Intuitivo Ambassadors program with more than 100 participants

  • Greater savings in evaluation and correction time for the teacher

  • Increase in the number of institutions using the platform

  • Became part of Techstars investors

10. Solving usability issues

Usability tests generated a table organized into 4 columns: (1) problem; (2) severity; (3) priority; and (4) observations. Severity is ordered in: High, Medium, Low and Enhancement. The priority is organized in order of resolution, with #1 being the first problem to be solved and so on in ascending order. Six problems have been identified, three of which have already been resolved. Two issues that weren’t resolved are in the “Enhancement” category, so they were allocated to phase 2.0 of the application. The other unresolved issue requires further usability testing. It has only been identified by one person and doesn’t have high gravity.
